Dr. Shawn Cottrell O.D.
Dr. Cottrell graduated from Pacific University in 2007 at the age of 25 with his Doctorate of Optometry. He did his externships at Moran Eye Center and the Salt Lake City Veterans Hospital diabetic clinic, where he specialized in hard contact fitting and diseases of the eye. Shortly after graduating he moved to Colorado, where he began practicing at Arvada Optometric Center in 2008. In 2011, Dr. Cottrell became owner of the practice; his goal, to provide the best eye care possible to the Arvada community.
Dr. Cottrell is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Colorado Optometric Association. In his free time he likes to stick to his roots. Being from a small town in Wyoming, he enjoys camping, fishing, biking and backpacking with his wife Stephanie, their 3 children and dog, Gypsy.
At the age of 8, Dr. Cottrell was given his first pair of glasses. He remembers being able to see individual leaves on trees, something that he had never experienced before. It was at this time he realized that he wanted to become an eye doctor, and that this feeling of excitement was one that he wanted to instill in his patients.
