The Exam

This includes the puff test for glaucoma, and they'll look inside your eye for any potential macular degeneration, among other things. You should let them know if you have any conditions like diabetes.
Diagnosis
If the exam shows any kinds of conditions, whether it's myopia or glaucoma, the optometrist will determine the best course of action. This could range from eyeglasses to potentially needing laser surgery. Sometimes you might need medication, mostly in the form of eyedrops.
